The scope of due diligence studies can vary significantly. At a minimum, due diligence verifies that the historical financials of the target provide an accurate view of the performance of the business and focuses on minimising risks. Broader studies can include e.g. analysis of the earnings model and operational dynamics of the target, evaluation of financial forecasts, or more fundamental risk analysis.
